The “Folks” series was inspired by an experience of growing up gay in a small Polish town in the early 2000s.
Back then, there was no space for first kisses or romances like my peers were experiencing. Growing up meant clunky dating portals, rushed hook-ups in the bushes, and fleeting encounters with random guys. Through this project, I wanted to imagine an alternative reality — one where gay love could blossom in the idyllic scenery of a Polish countryside.
Now you can get reprints of the works shown at the “folks” exhibition, which took place at Tworzywoin Kraków in spring 2025. The edition is strictly limited, with authenticity confirmed by signature and numbering on the back. Each piece comes in a carefully chosen wooden frame, handcrafted in a local workshop near Kraków.
